The Hilltop at Briarcliff

Hilltop at Briarcliff is a 9-story office building on a bluff high over the Missouri River Valley.  The developer wanted to give every floor of The Hilltop an expansive view of the downtown Kansas City skyline.  To make that happen, SKW’s structural teams surrounded the 250,000 s.f. building with 35,000 s.f. of retaining walls which reach as high as 35'.  The segmental walls were crucial to achieving the owner’s vision for locating the office high upon the hill. The random weathered look of the mosaic pattern blends seamlessly with the native limestone formations in the area.  SKW received an Award of Merit for Hardscapes from the National Concrete Masonry Association for this project in 2008.
