Children's Mercy West

An existing retail site in Kansas City, KS, was redeveloped to allow construction of the new 17,500 s.f. Children's Mercy West Clinic.  The new facility houses 18 primary care clinic rooms, an outpatient pharmacy, laboratory and radiology space.  SKW prepared design and construction documents which included structural engineering services for the clinic's roof and foundation design.  The roof structure consists of steel decking over steel joists, beams and columns.  The exterior structure consists of pre-engineered, pre-cast concrete wall panels.  SKW also designed the arched canopy over the entry, and provided civil site engineering services and landscape architecture plans.  The clinic opened in 2007.
