Blue Valley Southwest High School
Facing growing enrollment, Blue Valley School District #229 decided to construct a fifth, high school on a 130 acres in Overland Park, KS. SKW's scope of services for the 300,000 s.f. facility serving 1,600 students began with the schematic design plans. Work has included site layout, grading concept for the entire campus, cross sections, stormwater analysis and bio- retention study. SKW also produced detailed construction plans for site utilities, fire protection line, detention basin and erosion control. SKW construction observation staff monitored placement of the new water lines. Silver LEED™ certification is expected when the school opens in 2010.
