Shawnee Mission Medical Center Outpatient Pavilion
When planning their new $16M outpatient facility, Shawnee Mission Medical Center sought a landscape design that reflected their compassionate and forward-thinking approach to health care. The Outpatient Pavilion is the first phase of a four-phase campus master plan and the site includes a 79,000 s.f. facility with an emergency department, imaging center, surgery center and doctors' offices. SKW’s land planning and landscape architecture design plans included bio-retention and irrigation. The hospital landscape portion features naturalized street frontage plantings, parking island trees, parking lot screening, foundation plantings, public open space landscaping and service area screening. SKW also prepared the landscape construction documents.
