The new LEED™ Silver certified, 300,000 s.f. Staley High School in North Kansas City is on a 233-acre site with parking to accommodate 2,000 students. SKW was selected to provide the survey, civil site engineering, landscape architecture and construction-phase services for the new school. Civil site development on the project included preserved stream ways and wetlands, detention and retention facilities, infiltration trenches, vegetated swales, bio retention basins and stream way grade control structures, as well as the reuse of stormwater runoff for a drip irrigation system. SKW was also involved in the development of the street and traffic signal improvements for construction of Shoal Creek Parkway.
