Sunrise Estates Collection System Rehabilitation - Boone County Regional Sewer District
The Boone County Regional Sewer District obtained the Sunrise Estates wastewater and collection systems in the mid-1980's. Wastewater treatment was provided by aerated lagoons in two areas and by an extended aeration treatment plant in the third part of the system. The collection system was subject to high infiltration and inflow resulting in treatment upsets and sewer backups. Several options were explored over time to address additional treatment capacity and to reduce the infiltration and inflow. This presentation summarizes the treatment and rehabilitation options considered. The final solution was the rehabilition of the collection system using cured in place pipe and manhole lining. This project offered a unique opportunity to compare the sewer flows both before and after rehabilitation of the public portion of the sewer system.
This presentation was given at the 2010 Missouri Water Environment Association - 14th Annual Fall Technical Conference. It was presented by Dennis E. Stith, P.E.
