For Brandon Pipesh, 2016 is the year he sees ideas become reality as SKW assembles its first construction team to meet growing client demand — a challenge he is looking forward to.
Based out of Shafer, Kline & Warren’s (SKW’s) Tulsa office, Brandon Pipesh worked for SKW for three years as the manager of pipeline integrity before earning a promotion to vice president of pipeline integrity and construction in 2015. As the leader of SKW’s new construction services group and SKW’s comprehensive solutions for pipeline integrity, Pipesh’s days are always eventful.
“We have seen growing client demand in this area,” said Pipesh who is working with SKW’s managing director of construction services to hire their first construction crew. “Construction services is an important addition to SKW; it allows us to truly offer our clients an integrated approach for pipeline integrity projects.”
A National Association of Corrosion Engineers CP-4 certified cathodic protection specialist, Pipesh has 16 years of experience in the pipeline industry, including work as a consultant and corrosion engineer. With one foreman hired, Pipesh plans to have the first crew assembled by early spring.
“SKW is a great workplace,” said Pipesh. “It’s made of real people who work hard to meet challenges and have fun doing it. For me, 2016 is both a challenging and exciting year, because I get to see something I put on paper materialize as a new business venture that I also get to lead. Not many companies offer this level of support and confidence to their employees.”
SKW launched its construction services group in October 2015. With the addition of construction services, SKW is able to offer clients a single source solution for pipeline excavation, inspection and installation services.
“With an extensive background in pipeline integrity, Brandon has the industry experience and vision we sought in a leader,” SKW CEO Ron Petering said. “We are excited to leverage his talent in an area that further supports our clients’ needs.”
Pipesh worked with SKW on a natural gas project in Oklahoma prior to joining the team. SKW’s culture and focus on client service impressed him during that project.
“The environment at SKW can be fast-paced and aggressive while maintaining a unique culture that is people driven,” said Pipesh. “Employees are engaged here, and there is a clear purpose.”
