Sherman Leads SKW Planning Efforts

Fred Sherman, AICP, has joined SKW as a Senior Planner and GIS Consultant. He leads the firm’s planning efforts with an extensive knowledge of modern planning and zoning practices, public finance and economic development initiatives. He is experienced in guiding communities through the development of comprehensive plans and other specialized studies. He will also utilize his background to provide consultation and training on geographic information systems (GIS).

Sherman comes to SKW with more than 20 years of experience in municipal and county government. Most recently, he spent eight years serving as the Community Development Director for the City of Gardner, KS. His career also includes time spent providing planning services for the Cities of Overland Park and Lawrence, and for Miami County.

Sherman has earned certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in city planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Sherman is based out of the firm’s corporate office located in Lenexa, KS.
