Phil Burns Receives Bedell Award

Phil Burns, Senior Project Manager in Water Resources was presented the 2011 Arthur Sidney Bedell Award by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) at the annual Missouri Water Environment Association conference on March 28. The Bedell Award was established to acknowledge extraordinary personal service to a WEF Member Association, such as MWEA. MWEA is a not for profit association of over 800 water quality professionals.

Phil served as the MWEA President from 2008-2009 and served on the Executive Committee for five years. He has been actively involved with the Collection System Committee and will serve as Chair for the Membership Committee this year. Phil's 34 years of engineering experience includes a background in project development, design and management of wastewater treatment plan, pump station and collections system projects. He has performed work for many of the major wastewater utilities in the KC metro area. Phil (left) was presented the award by Matt Bond, President Elect of WEF.
