SKW Welcomes Joel Riggs, Gains Peridian Group Records
Shafer, Kline & Warren, Inc. (SKW) is pleased to announce the following:
Joel D. Riggs, P.E., has joined SKW as a Client Liaison in the Development Services Department located in Lenexa, KS. He will be responsible for all phases of business development, concentrating on client development and existing client maintenance throughout Kansas and Missouri. Having worked in similar roles over the past 16 years, Joel has established strong local relationships with area developers, municipalities, contractors and utility companies.
“Throughout my career I have always held the highest regard for SKW as a consulting firm with an excellent reputation,” says Riggs. “Joining SKW allows me to offer clients an expanded range of services from a firm who has the proven ability to handle larger and more complex projects.”
Riggs’ transition includes SKW gaining access to all instruments of service, including electronic drawing files, survey records, project files, and client databases of the engineering consulting firm Peridian Group, where he has served as a principal owner for the past ten years. Peridian Group’s experience primarily focused on providing engineering services for real estate based clients from offices in Gardner and Lawrence. Notable accomplishments of the firm included projects such as Tall Grass Creek, Overland Park, KS, Coleman Distribution Center, Gardner, KS, and USD 500 Administration Building, Kansas City, KS.
SKW principal, Jerry Johnson, says the acquisition of Peridian Group is a natural fit. “SKW has formed our organization around meeting the needs of clients, particularly in the development arena. Bringing the experience of Joel and Peridian into our firm strengthens our client base and allows us to utilize Joel’s personal experience with public-private financed projects.”
Riggs is a licensed professional engineer experienced in all facets of civil engineering design and construction. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and master’s degree in engineering management, both from the University of Kansas. Prior to his involvement with Peridian Group he also held positions with the Kansas Department of Transportation, GBA, and Johnson County Public Works.
