On-call Services (Argosy Casino Cross Walk)

A Driver-Reaction Study for the City of Riverside, MO, was prepared by SKW. The study examined the effectiveness of a pedestrian-actuated crosswalk at the Argosy Casino and quantified the speed of traffic, the percentage of drivers that yielded to pedestrians preparing to enter the crosswalk and the location drivers who began breaking in advance of the crosswalk.  The study was done both before and after the installation of the crosswalk; videotape were also compiled both before and after the installation of the crosswalk to better illustrate the motorists' compliance to the pedestrians' desiring to cross the street.
