Truman Library Renovation
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil and structural engineering services were provided by SKW for the renovation of the Harry S. Truman Presidential Museum and Library located in Independence, MO. The phased project included replacement of the majority of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and plans for an addition to provide space for a new permanent exhibit on the Truman presidency. The two story addition was built to flatten one inside corner of the pentagon shaped structure in the courtyard area. SKW met with the State Historical Preservation Office to discuss changes allowed to the exterior of the building and performed a structural investigation of the existing structure before design work began.
