Downtown Revitalization Design
Founded in 1833, City's public and private sectors came together in a partnership to improve the community's central business district and to enhance the City's reputation as a short-stay destination. Successfully leading the City of Plattsburg’s planned revitalization, SKW’s design efforts included improvements for sidewalks with ADA compliance; 58 traditional style street lights and poles; re-locating under ground the utility service lines; street mill and overlay; and construction of the David Rice Atchison pocket. Improvements were partially funded through a $400,000 CDBG grant supplemented by local and private funds.
