Monticello Road (Johnson Dr. to 66th St.)

Prior to the design of improvements on Monticello Road from Johnson Drive to 66th Street, a demographic and growth analysis and public meetings were conducted to ensure improvements will meet future demands and the desires of the neighborhood. SKW’s planning department researched demographic and growth trends and reviewed building permit activity to determine a build out population for the area. Additionally, SKW collaborated with the Shawnee Mission School District to evaluate school capacities and growth. Both sets of data provided a sound base for developing an accurate traffic analysis. Public involvement was also a key element of the project. In coordination with their sub-consultant, SKW successfully gained public input and by-in for the project through public meetings, information distribution and opinion surveys.
