Bicycle and pedestrian facilities are a high priority in the community of Platte County, MO. SKW was selected to lead the design for 2.2 miles of asphalt and concrete multi-use trail for bicyclists and pedestrians on a 119-acre site, which features 9.5 acres of restored native prairie. In addition to the prairie restoration element, SKW was responsible for design of the trail structure and four pedestrian bridges; design of parking areas and storm sewers; cost estimates for Phase I and II project implementation; coordination of permits; and preparation of construction documents, cost estimates and specifications for soliciting bids.
