North Kansas City GIS Implementation Plan
Upon completion of a Needs Assessment, SKW was invited to manage implementation of the GIS plan. Serving as the coordinator of the City's GIS Steering Committee, SKW helped set priorities for implementation. Based upon the City's overall goals and constraints, SKW recommended a rapid data development implementation to quickly give staff the ability to access and query the locations of City facilities. Access to the geospatial data was established through a GIS plan based on an ArcIMS intranet software platform. SKW responded to the City's need for a low-maintenance, user-friendly system which could easily be built upon during future implementation phases.
