The Gas Turbine Cogeneration Facility is a 10 megawatt gas turbine that generates electrical power for the Macon Municipal Utilities in Macon, MO. Exhaust heat from the turbine is used to generate steam for a nearby ethanol plant. SKW worked with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources on environmental permitting and field testing for compliance. SKW’s services included: a financial feasibility analysis/study, including a range of gas costs and turbine/HRSG options; major equipment selection and procurement; design of high voltage substation upgrade; design and construction of turbine control building; preparation of drawings and specifications for construction bid package; substation/generator/protective relay design, programming and testing; station PLC programming; and commissioning and startup.
The cogeneration plant went into service in May 2003. |
