Country Club Plaza
Survey & Civil Engineering
Kansas City, MO

When the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO, began doing business in 1922 as the nation's first suburban shopping center, Tuttle-Ayers-Woodward, predecessor firm to SKW, had already been in business for nearly 40 years.  The firm began doing land surveying for the J.C. Nichols Company in 1905 and subsequently did the surveying for every building on the Plaza.

SKW also provided civil engineering services for the jogging trail at Mill Creek Park and the Valencia Place Office Tower & Retail Center.  The 27 buildings on the Plaza cover 12 blocks and encompass approximately 1.2 million s.f.  Original records stored in SKW's offices on the Country Club Plaza date from the turn of the century.
