Tiffany Hills Park
SPCAA Athletic Complex
Kansas City, MO

SKW provided surveying, planning, engineering and landscape architecture services for the development of the Southern Platte County Athletic Complex located in Kansas City, MO.  As an active participant in the community, the SPCAA provides organized recreational sports leagues for all age and skill levels.  Design work included preparation of a topographic survey, preliminary and final planning, and engineering services for on-site development of the 73-acre recreation complex.

Prepared by SKW, the recreation site plans included 12 lighted baseball fields, two soccer fields, three combination concession / restroom facilities and parking layout for 1,000 vehicles.  The project site, located in a previously undeveloped area, required extreme sensitivity to the natural environment.  Site plans were developed for the protection and mitigation of area wetlands and creation of a detention basin, as well as the site grading, seeding and landscape improvements.

The project development also required SKW to upgrade the off-site infrastructure including extension of water mains and sanitary sewers, and conduct a traffic study resulting in improvements and expansion to the park's roadway access.
