North Kansas City, MO SKW provided civil engineering services for the construction of City View Apartments located in Northgate Village in North Kansas City, MO. City View features sidewalks, a resort-style pool, community center, and open landscaped spaces. Phase I of the development design included 27 individual buildings and parking for 168 vehicles. Phase II will add 13 buildings and 98 parking spaces. SKW's scope of services included the schematic design, preliminary grading plans, setting finish floor elevations for all building structures, storm drainage structures and the sanitary sewer system. Preparation of construction documents included the final finish floor elevations, the grading plan, private parking lots and drives, private utility plans, storm, sanitary and water systems. In October 2006, Northgate Village was awarded the Missouri Outstanding Project of the Year Award from the Missouri Chapter of the American Planning Association for the long-term goals of supporting a growing elderly population while attracting a younger population, and for requiring specific design guidelines that compliment North Kansas City's downtown. |
