As the Acting City Engineer for the City of Parkville, MO, for more than a decade, SKW provides a full range of engineering services to this community.  For the McAfee pump station project, SKW provided a comprehensive review of the wastewater pumping and treatment system to maximize treatment capacity and to improve the reliability of the existing SBR treatment facility.  The treatment facility had been receiving large amounts of flow that would overwhelm the plant batch reactors.  

SKW designed a new control system using adjustable frequency drives and maximizing the storage in the sewer interceptor.  To save money, the new control system used existing wiring and was installed in an existing building.  The result is a smoother pumping operation and more consistent performance from the treatment facility.
