Phase II (ECWAG) & Phase III (RECD)
Harrison County, MO
SKW provided engineering design services for Public Water Supply District (PWSD) No. 2 Phase II expansion. The expansion consisted of the installation of approximately 42 miles of two through six inch water main, 84 service connections, a booster pump station with telemetry controls, and other appurtenances. SKW subsequently prepared an engineering report for the Phase III expansion. Phase III expansion consisted of the installation of 280 miles of two through eight inch water mains, two booster pump stations, two standpipes, a water well, 400 service connections, telemetry controls, and expansion of the existing water treatment plant from a capacity of 235 gpm to 412 gpm.
The Harrison PWSD No. 2 is comprised of three pressure zones with booster pumps moving water from the treatment plant to first the lower, then the second and third zone. Standpipes provide storage in each zone. The communities of Cainsville, Ridgeway and Coffey recently connected to the District. SKW utilizes the Watercadd hydraulic model to analyze the effects of providing water service to additional customers in areas that have experienced significant growth.
SKW continues to provide support to the District. We completed a report on the water supply and treatment capabilities and prepared the preliminary reports needed for the District to obtain an ECWAG grant from USDA to find and construct a new water supply well. SKW is designing an expansion to the District's well field and water plant, upgrades to the booster pumps and a new 100,000 gallon elevated water storage tank. The water plant improvements are necessary to expand the plants capacity to 600 gpm. Improvements include the addition of new aerators, a chlorine contact basin, additional pressure filters, filter building expansion, new low service pumps, new 500,000 gallon clearwell and new high service pumps. The disinfection system will be modified to provide chloramines.
