Monarch Cement Rock Belt #9 HDS Survey

Humboldt, KS

Monarch Cement selected SKW to prepare a very detailed survey of an existing overhead conveyor belt system and associated support structures that were originally constructed in the 1950s.  The challenge on this project was that one end of the conveyor was 240' above the ground and the overall length of the belt was approximately 580'.  The HDS scanner was used on this project because it would have been physically impossible to obtain the necessary data using conventional survey means with the accuracy requested by the client.

The point cloud data was utilized in conjunction with AutoCAD to prepare design deliverables to the client.  Plan and profile drawings, structural dimension plans and reports were created with scan data that otherwise would have been impossible to obtain.
