| Cogeneration Ethanol Plant |
|
Laddonia, MO A new state-of-the-art electric cogeneration facility was built in Laddonia, MO. SKW developed the project by working with the Missouri Public Utility Alliance (MPUA) and Missouri Ethanol, LLC. The project scope included a 14.3 Megawatt gas turbine/electric generator system, turbine building facility with control room, 69 KV substation, 69 KV electrical connection to grid, gas pipeline with metering/regulation, and SCADA system for local/remote monitoring /control. The facility is designed to operate unattended. Exhaust heat from the gas turbine is used to generate steam for use by the ethanol facility. The plant began production in 2007. SKW's services included developing the project concept, feasibility study, engineering design, air permit preparation/coordination, equipment specification/procurement, utility coordination with gas pipeline and electrical utility, preparation of construction bid packages, construction observation/inspection, and commissioning. It is anticipated the project will receive several energy efficiency awards including recognition from EPA's combined heat and power partnership. |
